"President of Turkish parliament’s human rights commission rejects US report

ANKARA, March 8.— Mehmet Elkatmis, president of the Turkish government’s human rights commission, has rejected the US State Department’s report on the international human rights situation.
Elkatmis received Cuban ambassador Ernesto Gómez Abascal at the Turkish parliamentary headquarters, as well as members of the delegation that attended Solidarity Week – organized by the Society for Friendship with Cuba in this capital – and specified that the US has no right to maintain the blockade of the Caribbean island."
