"EU reporter: Turkey should give priority to fight against 'honor' murders
European Commission for Equal Opportunity of Men and Women has appointed Socialist Group' Turk originated Dutch Deputy Emine Bozkurt as the Turkey Reporter.
She, who will prepare 'The Situation of Woman in Turkey' feature report, drew attention to the murders committed under the name or so called ''honor''
In her statement EU reporter to Turkey stating she had always desired the charge to which she has been assigned uttered that women in Turkey have harder and worse problems when compared to the other sectors of Turkish society. Touching on the importance of the battle against the 'honor murders' in Turkey, she reminded that the same felonies have been committed in some countries of the European Union said that the point under the consideration is not only the problem of Turkey but also of Europe."
