"Talat believes EU incapable of resolving Cyprus issue

Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat remarked it was impossible for the European Union to undertake a liability such as furthering a resolution over the divided island of Cyprus, while EU term president Luxembourg's Ambassador to the United States Arlette Conzemius said he was hopeful of finding such a resolution for the divided island.
Speaking in an interview on the Turkish Cypriot Bayrak television (BRT), Talat said the Greek Cypriots had fabricated news reports saying the EU has been preparing a new plan for Cyprus.
�The EU has so far said countless times that it would not undertake such a role � It neither has the ability or the power to do so,� Anatolia quoted Talat as saying. "
