"Turk PM seeks talks with Annan on Cyprus
ANKARA, Jan 13 (Reuters) Turkey's Prime Minister has said he hopes to meet UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan soon to resume the search for a Cyprus settlement and was open to changes in a peace plan rejected last year by Greek Cypriots.
The Cyprus issue threatens to hamper Turkey's plans to open entry talks with the European Union on October. 3.
''We want to meet him (Annan) at the first opportunity. No doubt, what will be put forward will not be the current Annan plan,'' the state Anatolian news agency quoted Tayyip Erdogan as saying late yesterday on his return from a trip to Russia."
