Racing towards a regret for ’Turkey lost’
The “losing Turkey” notion has been in circulation for some time now. It began with the “Sarkozy effect” as well as some other elements of Turkish-EU relations but accelerated quickly after the damage to foreign policy due to ceaseless interventions by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has shown no interest in any sort of conflict resolution in Turkey's neighborhood.
