Women and comedy: Reaching out to the female target audience in Turkey
This mainstream comedy film with an all-female cast hit Turkish theaters on Jan. 17, 2014 and only garnered approximately 97,000 admissions at the local box office -- a sad rate of admissions in the national market for such a highly publicized mainstream film, which usually aims for at least 500,000. But let's set aside the numbers for a minute and focus at the story at hand.
