Democracy Bites the Dust

You expect repression in Hong Kong. You know Beijing isn’t going to allow free elections.
But you don’t expect repression in Turkey. At least, I didn’t.
My wife and I just returned from there and saw a prosperous country, with booming real estate and growth everywhere. Not exactly Germany in the 1930s. Hardly a place to stomp on democracy.
