Turkey expected to join with West over sanctions on Russia
As a NATO country that aspires to be a European Union member, Turkey's failure to team up with EU countries and the US over the sanctions against Russia for its disregard of Ukraine's territorial integrity has puzzled EU officials, especially given the fact that Crimea -- which was annexed by Russia in March -- is home to an ethnic Turkic minority of Tatars.
