Erdoğan ordered height restriction change for Ağaoğlu, tape reveals
The height restriction applicable to a high-rise project owned by construction mogul Ali Ağaoğlu in İstanbul's Bakırköy neighborhood was increased by more than seven meters upon instructions from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan -- who was prime minister at the time -- overriding a municipality assembly decision establishing the maximum height allowance for the building, the transcript of a phone conversation has exposed.
