Turkey's first botanical garden under threat

In an omnibus bill drafted in response to the problems faced by miners in Soma, where more than 300 people died in the country's worst-ever mining disaster in May, the government has approved the possible sale of the İstanbul University Botanical Garden, a major threat to the garden, which is located in one of the most valuable spaces in İstanbul.
