Lawyer, Twitter user warn of murder plans against arrested officers

The lawyer for a former police chief and a Twitter user using the pseudonym Fuat Avni have claimed that some of the police officers who were put under arrest recently as part of a government-backed operation against the police force may be assassinated in prison.
Lawyer Cemalettin Mutlu spoke to the press on Thursday and cautioned that former head of the İstanbul Police Department's counterterrorism unit, Yurt Atayün, may be assassinated by what he called “dark powers” to put the blame for the assassination on the “parallel structure.”
