Four Global Trends Affecting Turkish Food Safety

What did you eat for lunch today? Where did it come from, and was it safe? Large-scale foodborne illness and contamination events have attracted significant media attention in recent years, impacting consumer confidence and bringing food safety issues to the forefront of public debate. On August 19, APCO Worldwide’s Istanbul office held a food safety roundtable with Dan Glickman, former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and International Advisory Council member, to discuss global food safety trends and particular challenges in Turkey. The meeting gathered regulatory officials, association representatives and business leaders, including representatives from some of the world’s largest multinational firms in the field of food and consumer products.
