The EU integration process and its potential effects on Turkey’s accession

Problems that the EU has faced during its integration process, in addition to the EU’s internal dynamics, have led the EU to adopt a new model for its integration and enlargement policy. This could mean that Turkey and Balkan countries will probably not be able to accede to the EU in the near future.
