A look back at presidential candidate Erdoğan’s approach to media
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the presidential nominee of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), has been Turkey’s prime minister since 2002.
Since that time, he has given speeches at inauguration ceremonies, election rallies, television programs, press conferences, aboard the Prime Ministry plane and especially at his party’s parliamentary group meetings on Tuesdays, and in many of those speeches, he has targeted media professionals and owners.
