Non-EU Eastern European countries pose threat of antibiotic resistance

Non-European Union southern and eastern European countries have markedly poor health information systems and their citizens a relatively inappropriate use of antibiotics, says a new study.
The citizens of non-EU European countries such as Turkey are increasingly turning to antibiotics due to the poorly managed health systems in their countries, a Belgian study published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases has found.
