80% of French population don't want Turkey in EU – expert
François Hollande has become the third French President to pay a visit to Turkey, a longtime aspiring member of the EU. Ankara has been waiting for this visit for months, with high hopes for a new page being turned on EU-Turkey relations. There was a firm belief that the real stumbling block to Turkey’s EU accession was France, and Hollande’s taking-over gave rise to expectations that the path of EU entry will now be smoothed for Turkey.
