Japan & Turkey to film story of historical Ottoman frigate that sank in 1890
To commemorate the friendship between Japan and Turkey, both governments have decided to support the creation of a film based on an Ottoman frigate that was shipwrecked off the coast of Wakayama Prefecture because of a typhoon in 1890. The production will start soon while the release date of the film will be in 2015, marking the 125th anniversary of the incident.
