Schulz calls on Ankara to abide by the EU rules
President Christofias said that the Cyprus’ Presidency wishes to promote a more just European society and it will do its best to lay the foundations towards this direction, adding however that “we are not magicians and miracles are not likely to happen”.

It is not the European Union who wants to join Turkey, it is the other way around and Ankara has to abide by the EU rules, President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz stressed on Wednesday, speaking during a joint press conference with President of the Republic Demetris Christofias in Strasbourg.
