Turkish side demands “mediatorship and deadline”
In a press statement made in New York, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advisor to Cyprus, Alexander Downer, and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Cyprus, Tayé-Brook Zerihoun, stated that UN Under-Secretary General Lynn Pascoe would attend an important meeting with the Cyprus Group to ‘draw a map’. It was said that Ankara and North Cyprus had demanded that the “UN acts as mediator”, which could be on the agenda of the meeting, and that the UN could take a step regarding this demand."
