The only way Bulgaria could get some natural gas supplies other than the pipeline coming from Russia was the pipeline connection with Turkey, Vassil Filipov, the former head of state-owned natural gas distribution firm Bulgargaz, told private national broadcaster Nova Televiziya on January 11 2009."
