Sailors from HMS Illustrious have been reprimanded for shaming the navy
after a night of drunken antics in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
The evening after hosting the Queen and the Turkish president for a
glittering reception involving 350 guests, hundreds of sailors from the
22,000-tonne aircraft carrier held a private party at a pub in
Istanbul's Taksim Square.
Murat Sabancu, an onlooker who told a local newspaper
what he had seen, said: "There were men dressed as women, wearing high
heels, wigs, fishnet stockings and suspenders.
