"Turkey and Italy offer tribute to La Diva Turca
Turkey and Italy on Saturday paid tributes to Turkish soprano Leyla Gencer, who passed away on Friday in Milan, aged 80. Gencer, who made her career at Italy's La Scala and who was known as 'La Diva Turca' (The Turkish Diva), died of respiratory problems and heart failure in her home on Friday, La Scala and the Turkish State Opera and Ballet announced Saturday."
