November 07, 2007 WASHINGTON: US President George W. Bush, trying to avert a Turkish invasion of Iraq, pledged yesterday to step up US military and intelligence co-operation to aid Turkey's fight against Kurdish rebels in the north of the war-torn country. At a crisis meeting at the White House, Mr Bush urged Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to let US and Iraqi troops clamp down on Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq."
