"Turkish women demand quote for parliamentary representation

In recent days, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made the headlines in the debate about women's representation in politics. The prime minister was involved in an argument with Hulya Gulbahar, the chairperson of the Association for the Support and Education of (Parliamentary) Women Candidates (KA-DER) during last week's reception in the Parliament. Gulbahar told the prime minister such a quota is needed for women in the Parliament and said this exists even in Ruanda. The prime minister in returned asked Gulbahar 'Do you want to be Ruanda? Go ahead!'"
