"Turkey among world leaders in foreign trade
Parallel to its growing economy and fueled by the rising demand from an increasing population, Turkey’s foreign trade has been expanding, raising it among the world’s top traders. According to last year’s figures, Turkey was 15th in imports but 22nd when it came to exports. This year, while it matched the world’s 16 percent average growth rate in exports, Turkey was one of the 10 countries with the highest increase in imports. With a 17 percent increase in imports, Turkey exceeded the world average by 2 percent."
