"Turkey to send processed food to EU duty-free
The export of processed agricultural goods to EU countries is now guaranteed under the supervision of a new agreement on quotas, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Kürşad Tüzmen said.
As a result of ongoing deliberations with the EU, Turkey secured agreements from the union in addition to the existing preferential custom's union, he said. According to the new agreement, among the new exports to the EU are 5,000 tons of chewing gum, 20,000 tons of pasta, 5,000 tons of chocolate, 10,000 tons of sugar-based products, 3,100 tons cereal, 10,000 tons of wheat, 23,120 tons of bread, cake, pastry and similar goods, 3,000 tons of ice cream and 4,000 tons of other concoctions."
