-- They say you can't have your cake and eat it. I always found this idiom to be, well, rather idiotic. What good is a cake if you can't eat it? And if you have the cake why can't you eat it?
That same line of thinking can be applied to the recent elections in Turkey in which the ruling Justice and Development Party, known locally by its Turkish initials, AK, won the parliamentary elections by a comfortable margin. What good is winning an election if you don't profit from your victory?"
