"CYPRUS: 'TURKISH REPUBLIC' MINISTER APPEALS TO EU TO END ISOLATION
Rome, 20 April (AKI) - The foreign minister of the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is only recognised by Turkey, has appealed to Italy and other EU nations to end their boycott. 'The time has come for something to be done for Turkish-Cypriots,' Turgay Avci, said in an interview with Adnkronos International (AKI). Avci argued that Turkish-Cypriots had not been given a just recognition for approving in a 2004 referendum an initiative by the then UN secretary general Kofi Annan to re-unite the island of Cyprus."
