PUTTING your finger on the Cyprus problem is a bit like a group of blind people describing an elephant in a darkened room. The one that touches the elephant’s trunk will describe it as long and narrow; another touching the ears will insist the elephant is wide and floppy; a third who touches a leg would assert confidently that it is firm and thick like a pillar. So it is with the Cyprus problem in all its many facets.
