Greek Education Council Chairman Thanos Veremis has admitted that the Greeks committed atrocities against Turks during the independence war. In an interview with Greek daily Elefteros, Veremis responded to overall reactions to changes in Greek elementary school history books, which purified the past from exaggerations, saying it was not a correct approach to accuse the Turks continuously."
