"Turkish Cypriots in Brussels lobby for more rights

TURKISH CYPRIOT political and non-governmental organisations will be in Brussels this week in an effort to air growing dissatisfaction in the community over what it sees as the EU’s lack of commitment to ending its political and economic isolation.
“We are going to explain what it is like to be a citizen of the EU but not to have democratic representation,” Chairman of the Turkish Cypriot Human Rights Foundation (KTIHV) Emine Erk, who will be in Brussels from today for a series of meetings with members of the European Parliament and a number of non-governmental organisation (NGOs), told the Cyprus Mail yesterday.
