Despite the proposals by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to suspend the negotiation process for Turkey's EU accession, Germany continues to extend credits to Turkey partially intended for usage during EU preparation efforts. A credit facility of more than 50 million Euros will be provided for municipal infrastructure projects by the European Investment Bank in Turkey and the individual resources of the German Development Bank ( KfW). "
