When the same artist appears at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Next Wave festival for two decades, it's probably time to admit that "next" is a misnomer. But 66-year-old German choreographer Pina Bausch is so consummate a showman, it hardly matters.
Her latest export, "Nefés" (which means "breath" in Turkish), slips so gracefully from scene to titillating scene - three hours' worth - that you don't even want to notice the chill it arouses. Or I don't, anyway. "You can see it like this or like that," Bausch once said of her work. Proceeding in "Nefés" as a documentarian of desire, she leaves us to interpret the evidence and feel however we like about it."
