"EU Rebuffs Turkey's Bid to Move On With Entry Talks by Year-End

Dec. 20 (Bloomberg) -- The European Union rebuffed Turkey's plea to take a symbolic step forward in membership talks by the end of the year, bowing to calls for a delay from Germany, France and Greece.
EU government aides decided today in Brussels not to start negotiations in a new policy area at least until January, an EU spokesman said in Brussels. Turkey had pressed for talks in four areas."
