For thinking persons of Greek and Turkish descent (especially those who live outside Greece and Turkey and have less clouded perspectives of the political and cultural situations in these countries) it is sad to witness a strange phenomenon, which is mindlessly perpetuated influencing negatively the Greek-Turkish relations. I refer to an extensive public media coverage in both countries, and sometimes even in the international media, of exaggerated small disputes, like the Imia crisis, and airspace violations over the Aegean sea, which have brought these NATO allies to the brink of war several times in recent memory."
