"90,000 Could Die in Another Istanbul Quake

Istanbul. According to a report drafted by the Istanbul Municipality and Japanese International Aid Agency if an earthquake measuring 7,5 on the Richter scale hits Istanbul the casualties will amount to 90,000 people and the material damage will be over USD 40 billion, online edition of Turkish newspaper Zaman reads today.
A possible quake would affect 9,000,000 people from over 3,000,000 families living in 750,000 buildings. The forecasted consequences are for 50-60,000 severely damaged buildings, for 500-600,000 people left homeless and for 120,000 seriously and 400,000 lightly injured people, the newspaper notes."
