"Turkish Christian site saved from flames
ANKARA - Turkish firefighters were reported Monday to have brought under control a major forest fire that threatened a celebrated Christian shrine in the west of the country.
According to the Anatolia news agency hundreds of people were mobilised overnight to fight the flames near Selcuk, where there is a shrine to the Virgin Mary which draws tens of thousands of pilgrims each year."
