"Turkey: E.U. Text on Turkey-Cyprus Put Off to Next Week
10:49 - 09 September 2005 - The search for agreement on a joint European Union text asking Turkey to normalise relations with Cyprus has been put off until next week, the bloc's officials said in Brussels.
The E.U. has promised that both the declaration on Cyprus and agreement on a negotiating framework allowing Turkey to open E.U. membership talks on October 3 will be ready in time."
