"Ansay's Letter To Los Angeles Times

NEW YORK - Engin Ansay, Turkish Consul General in Los Angeles, sent a letter to the Los Angeles Times in response to an article on so-called Armenian genocide.
In his letter entitled ''Turkey's Struggles with History'', Ansay said, ''in recalling Henry Morgenthau's role as U.S. ambassador to the Ottoman Empire, your editorial 'Turkey's War with History' (September 8th) unfortunately accepts a one-sided perspective of history as fact. Claims by Morgenthau of genocide at the end of the Ottoman period have never been legally substantiated.''"
