TELL your taxi driver 'Kaleici' (kah-leh-ee-chee) if you want to be dropped off in the high main square of the oldest district of Ankara. Phrygians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuk Turks, and Ottomans once lived by this hill topped with citadel walls. Now, with the increasing presence of tourist-friendly businesses and attractions, you'll find as many women with cameras as wearing headscarves among those eyeing hazelnuts and chickpeas at the square's open-air market."
