ANKARA - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has stated, ''relatives of Turks who went missing in areas hit by hurricane Katrina shall contact the MFA, Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C. and Consulate General in Houston.''
The ministry stated on Thursday, ''regarding hurricane Katrina which hit Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida and Alabama states, U.S. officials stated that questions about condition of foreign citizens should be asked to the U.S. Crisis Management Office as well as representations of related countries.''
''It will be beneficial for Turkish citizens not to return to hurricane-hit areas until U.S. officials announce that those areas are safe,'' added the ministry."
