"Former F.M. Cem Says Turkey Shouldn't Give Up Its E.U. Bid Despite Difficulties
ANKARA - Former Turkish FM Ismail Cem said on Wednesday that Turkey shouldn't give up its EU bid despite all the difficulties.
Responding to questions of A.A correspondent by e-mail, Ismail Cem --who is currently receiving medical treatment in the US-- said that it seemed as if EU proposed an imaginary membership model and an imaginary negotiation process to Turkey.
''If accession negotiations don't start on Oct. 3rd, I don't think this will be very sad. Delaying of the process by six months won't be a loss since the negotiating framework document for Turkey is so unfair,'' Cem said."
