Turkey can make a mark on the global textile markets after the lifting of the textile quotas, if it opt for production of high value products and export in higher numbers. But, all this is easier said than done though.
Country�s exports have gone up to $64 billion in 2004, a two-fold increase over 2002 export numbers. Textile and apparel exports, which formed over a quarter of total exports in 2004, were instrumental in this rise. All this, portends well to think optimistically based on Turkey's global competitiveness, especially in the textile and apparels sector. "
