"Turkey Renews Warning to Abizaid to Keep PKK Promise

Representatives from Turkey, the US, and Iraq are to convene in Ankara today to negotiate steps to destroy the existence of the terrorist organization The Kurdish People's Party (PKK) in northern Iraq. Turkey will ask the US to keep its promise that it would destroy all terrorist organizations in Iraq.'
The US, however, maintains that the Iraqi presidential elections planned for January 30th is their priority and therefore are not entertaining plans to hold operations against PKK. The issue will also be raised during the negotiations to be attended by General John Abizaid, US Commander in the Middle East, in Ankara today. "
