"EU's Rehn: US should Respect EU Position on Turkey

European Union (EU) Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn has said the US should respect the EU as it continues negotiations with Turkey and should let the EU do this in its own way.
In a speech broadcast on Finnish television, Rehn said: 'I hope that the US will understand that this issue interests Europe, not America.'
Rehn hopes that the US understands that this is an issue which the EU will decide upon and even if EU works together with the US on this and many other topics, the US should be respectful of the EU's own path. "
