Accession negotiations with EU are to raise Turkish women's living and working standards as well as enabling them to enjoy equal rights with men
TDN, Ankara, 11.01.2005 -- The membership negotiations with the European Union to open on Oct. 3, 2005 will begin the long process of raising the living standards of Turkish women and ultimately enable them to enjoy the same rights as men.
While urging nongovernmental organizations to actively take part in this process with the intent of concluding entry talks with the EU at once, all state institutions are asking for the formation of a tight supervision mechanism in order to ensure the implementation of the legal regulations."
