Turkey has surpassed Japan and became the European Union's fifth biggest market after importing goods from EU worth almost 27 billion euro between January-July 2006.
Turkish imports in the first seven months of 2006 rose by 18 pct when compared to the same term in 2005.
According to definite records, Turkish exports to the EU also grew 18 pct in the first seven months of 2006 when compared to the same period in 2005 and reached 22.3 bln euro.
EU's biggest markets for its exports are the United States, Switzerland, Russia and China."
