Turkish peacekeepers to be sent to Lebanon face a tough and dangerous mission in Lebanon, Dan Fried, U.S. assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, has said.
In remarks in the German capital of Berlin on Thursday Fried praised Ankara for its decision to send a contingent to join the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), saying that Washington "welcomed the vote of Turkish Parliament and the efforts of the Turkish government.""
