"Ankara sees no crisis with EU
Turkish officials dismissed on Friday reports of a growing crisis with the European Union over Cyprus, saying that remarks by EU officials about the possible suspension of accession talks were simply possible scenarios mentioned in response to questions by journalists.
'The European Commission and the incoming term president are underlining that they will work to avoid a crisis. This is what's important and we see it as positive,' one Turkish diplomat told The New Anatolian. 'There is no initiative by the Commission or the presidency to made a decision to suspend talks. The remarks were made in response to questions. And there is nothing new in what they say. The media interpreted the comments differently, and that caused a misperception.'"
