"EU: Iran standoff can be solved diplomatically but sanctions possible

Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul on Friday joined top European Union officials where they stressed that a diplomatic solution over Iran's nuclear program is still possible, but also appeared to leave open the possibility of Tehran being hit by sanctions.
'The United Nations Security Council is not the end of the diplomatic route,' EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner told reporters in Salzburg at the start of a two-day unofficial meeting of foreign ministers."
